# Portrait Plus: Monochrome Elegance with Fine Detail

> Portrait Plus is a hand-drawn monochrome portrait defined by understated elegance and fine detail — versatile, commercially licensed, and timeless.

Portrait Plus is built around restraint. Where some styles make their mark through colour or graphic energy, Portrait Plus draws you in through precision — fine detail, considered tonal balance, and a monochrome palette that works across almost any professional context. It's a style that lets the likeness speak for itself, without visual noise competing for attention. The result is a portrait that's as versatile as it is refined: equally at home on a leadership team page, a conference speaker profile, a press release, or a printed brand brochure.

## Style Overview

The Portrait Plus style encapsulates the understated elegance of monochrome with a steadfast focus on details that draw the viewer in. Every feature is rendered with care — the texture of fabric, the structure of the face, the quality of expression — so that the portrait rewards close attention as well as a quick glance.

This is a style that prioritises clarity and adaptability. Because it works without colour, it integrates naturally into almost any design system, and the clean white background version is immediately deployable across digital and print formats alike.

Portrait Plus is a particularly good fit for:

* Professionals who want a timeless, adaptable portrait that won't date
* Organisations building a unified visual identity across a mixed team
* Contexts where colour coordination across portraits matters — legal firms, financial services, consulting practices
* Individuals who prefer understated quality over stylistic statement

<Note>
Portrait Plus is one of Bareface's most popular styles with teams, precisely because it coordinates beautifully across individuals without imposing a strong visual personality.

* **Transparent background PNG** — 4072×3256px, for flexible placement across any background or design layout

Add a fully layered Photoshop document (PSD) to your order if you want complete creative control. Your design team can use it to adjust tones, isolate elements, or integrate the portrait directly into existing brand templates.

If you're coordinating portraits across a team, the Trio or Studio bundles offer better per-portrait value than ordering singles separately.

## Reference Photo Tips

The reference photo you submit shapes the portrait your artist creates. For the best outcome:

* **Composition** — make sure your face, neck, and upper torso are fully visible and not obscured
* **Lighting** — natural or even professional lighting without harsh shadows produces the clearest result
* **Focus** — a sharp, well-focused image gives the artist the detail needed to render fine features accurately
* **Expression** — submit the expression you want captured; it's drawn directly from the reference and is not adjusted during refinements

A phone photo taken in good light is completely sufficient.
