What refinements cover
Refinements are designed to address the kinds of adjustments that naturally arise when reviewing a finished illustration. Within your two included rounds, you can request changes to:- Clothing and accessories — collar details, tie adjustments, jacket lapels, or other styling elements
- Minor touchups — softening wrinkles, smoothing stray hairs, or cleaning up fine details
- Composition adjustments — framing, cropping, or the overall balance of the portrait
- Styling changes — how hair, clothing colour, or other visual elements are presented
- Technical likeness — precise aspects of how your features are rendered relative to your reference photograph
What refinements do not cover
Refinements are adjustments to an existing, completed illustration — they are not a mechanism for producing a substantially different portrait. In particular, facial features and expressions cannot be dramatically altered during the refinement process. Your expression is drawn directly from your reference photograph, and the artist’s interpretation of your character and presence is central to the original work. If you want a different expression depicted, the reference photograph itself is the right starting point. If you remain unsatisfied after your two refinement rounds have been completed, reach out through the contact form or email hey@bareface.io and the team will work with you to find a resolution.
